This Sunday, the Carlisle Soccer Club raised the roof of the Carlisle Elementary School Rec Center. Dozens of teams learned that playing soccer on a gym floor is a whole different game than the outdoor version, but they started demonstrating some great ball skills and the enthusiasm Carlisle is known for! And parents and families cheered them on in with enthusiasm THEY are known for, too.
Games will be played on Sunday afternoons, through early March.
See the schedule here. Oh yeah, in case you haven’t seen them, here are the rules for Carlisle Soccer Indoors.
Come on our next Sunday afternoon and cheer our teams on. Bring noisemakers, make signs and have some fun already!
it’s just about time to begin the inagural indoor soccer season in Carlisle!Registrations are in and team rosters and schedules will be sent out Tuesday, January 5th.
With Ken Sadler and Paul Gruber heading up the indoor season, our goal is to have A LOT of fun and learn soccer along the way. When we say fun….we include the parents, there will be oportunities for the parents to get involved in helping to create a wonderful soccer environment for our kids to play in.
Games will begin Jan. 10th and will be played Sundays in the newer Carlisle Elementary gym, also called the Rec Center for Carlisle schools, from 1 PM - 5 PM. Games will be played in one 30 minute half and there will be a very limited number of subs, so play time will be excellent.
Players should receive their free t-shirt Jan. 10th. at the first game. We’ll use bibs to seperate the teams during games. Please have your player wear socks pulled over their shin guards and any color athletic-type shorts or pants will work. Your player must also wear either indoor soccer shoes or tennis shoes to play. Safety will be watched closely to make this a great experience.
We will be hosting free practice sessions starting next week. Your player is encouraged to attend the sessions, but they are not mandatory for the indoor season. However, attending at least the first session would be very beneficial to your player, as the rules to Indoor Soccer are a little different than what they may be use to. We will be organizing a practice calendar that will eventually be posted on the web site for easy viewing. Practice sessions will be as follows:
Ages 6 -8 Tuesdays Girls & Boys 6-7 PM
Ages 9-11 Thursdays Girls 6-7 PM Boys 7-8 PM
Ages 12-14 Fridays Boys 6-7 PM Girls 7-8 PM
Ages 15-19 Mondays Girls 6-7 PM Boys 7-8 PM
(updated 1/6/10)
Watch your email for more information to come. If you have any questions please call either Ken sadler (515) 321-6221 or Paul Gruber (515) 491-2446.
