Coaches

A player’s coach greatly impacts that player’s abilities, energy, enthusiasm and long-term success playing soccer. That’s why our Club emphasizes coach development alongside player development.

Most u10 and above coaches have at least an E-License, and we have one D-Licenced and one National C-Licensed coach.

We provide a variety of informal and formal club-level training and actively support our coaches’ participation at state-level training to create the best atmosphere for becoming a better soccer player. Specifically, the Carlisle Soccer Club rewards coaches for completing a youth module administered by the Iowa Soccer Association (ISA), and we provide partial reimbursement for E- and D-level certification from ISA.

The Iowa Soccer Association has produced a u6/u8 coaching manual and a u10/12 coaching manual that you can download here or from the ISA website.

ISA also administers classes for the state E Coaching License and the national D Coaching License. For more information, visit the ISA website or download this E License Candidate Manual or this D License Candidate Manual.

Interested in coaching?

If you’re interested in supporting our Club by becoming a coach, please contact Ken Sadler, director of coaching for boys, at 515-321-6221, or Manny Garcia, director of coaching for girls, at 515-989-5252. This is an easy, no-pressure way to get involved with soccer at the beginning of a player’s soccer career.

New Coach Forms

New coaches must complete the Online Volunteer Disclosure Form at the Iowa Soccer Association site. In the Downloadable and Online forms section, select the Online Volunteer Disclosure Form, fill out and submit the forms directly to ISA. Once approved, your name will be put in the database to allow team assignments for our Club.
