Great work ladies. I am very proud of all of you. You played very well together as a team and capitalized on many of the skills you learned over the course of the season. Here's to a great Spring season!

Melody:

You should be hearing from coaches and/or a club email anytime now. This has been a fast-developing project, given all the arrangements that have to be made, and we're getting as much done as we can. Please bare with us...we're all volunteers!

And come back often to the site because it's the first place we put information. Maybe we should be looking into a twitter account for the club? :-)

It would be nice if coaches would communicate this to their players rather than just posting it online. Maybe something could be set up to alert players when something has been posted to the site.

I am so proud of the girls. It was cold but they played hard and, I think, had a good time doing it. Go Panthers!

DONE! Ken and I have returned from the course in SD. Hate saying goodbyes to everyone. Groups became very close knit and everyone performed the best they could during testing. A little sore, but not too terribly. Should be in the best shape of my life after all the running. Hoping for a National designation on the first try, will have to wait a few weeks to find that out. Looking forward to networking with the coaches we've met which happened to be from all over the US as far away as NY, WA and FL. Glad to back home, Ken and I can't wait to get things moving with the club with our new ideas on training our players and coaches.

Another day down, on the back side of the course. Can't wait to get through it, hopefully with a C license in the end. Have learned a ton, have gotten a ton of soccer playing in. Not sure if I'm getting any fitter as I'm eating some decent dorm food which is weird to say. Going out with the coaches tonight to catch the Sounders MLS game which is the home town of one of my room mates (Seattle). Afternoon learned some new fitness activies incorporating a soccer ball which will be much needed improvement for the fitness sessions I've been running recently. A lot more function to the excercises.

Well, we're at Wed, the official mid way point to the C License course. Definitely been a lot of hard work but the weather has been very pleasant, not too hot, almost kind of cool on some days. To date both Ken and I have each conducted to training sessions which is for practice for our tests. Hard to do in front of all the coaches, even harder to hear some of the feedback the instructors provide, but in all, definitely valuable info to make both of us much better coaches and we're both eager to share and implement some of our ideas with the club. Practices are starting next week so I'll be creating some new training sessions for the club academies. Focus on fundamentals will definitely be a priority like it has, this time with a little more confidence that it is the right thing to do for our kids to prepare them to play and most importantly, to learn how to love the game.

Day 3 was a tough grind. Non stop from 8 am to 9 pm. We started our practice topics where we are evaluated on what we know with the topics we are assigned. I have yet to go and will be the first come Tues. Very tired at this point from all the playing, my goal is to lose about 15 pounds from all the running that I'm doing. The most notable quote to date is regarding possession which I think really helps our players understand the true intent of it. "If you can't move the fall forward, keep it." By far the simplist I've heard about the topic and narrows down the decision making two of one of two outcomes. Great quote from the course.
